This is very touching and it gives people the oppertuiny to see the faith of Lillian Trasher. I am an egyptian (asyut) and i think that seeing how far this orphange has come since i was there is great. I am also very prounf to say that my dad meant Lillian in her later years. Hope you keep on working through the faith of God, who loves and cares for us all. + Christina +
I am a Canadian who spent 2 weeks working at LTO last spring. It is an amazing place. There is so much love and so much hope there. To anyone who sees this, if you ever have an opportunity to visit, do so- you'll be blessed. God Bless. Amy
Thank you for having such a great website. I'm writing a paper about Ms. Trasher, and this was a wonderful source for information. Also, I was very interested about the orphanage, and what is happening there currently. God bless you as you extend His love to the children! -Lisa Schaible, student at North Central University
A big hello to Mr. Assad and his family and all the children and workers at the orphanage! I had the great privilege of working at the orphanage with "Teen Missions" in the summer of 1989....which now seems so long ago, but I remember it so well. Most unforgettable was the excitement and joy which poured out from the children daily and their unwavering devotion to God. Truly humbling. I also had a terrific group of American and Canadian missionaries to work and share some laughs with. My good friend Rob and I (two Canadian lads) were very moved by our experiences at the Lillian Trasher Orphanage. I have since been back to Egypt in 1999 (10 years later), but circumstances were such that I was unable to go to Asyut…maybe someday? Congrats to the team from Seattle…I have an appreciation for what you went through – all the joys and all the hardships. :) Terrific website! More photos of the children are needed! Take care and God bless. Dan Weigand weigand29@yahoo.com
Lillian Trasher Orphanage is a wonderful investment in the lives of children needing hope in Christ. I've been a sup- porter for several years, and am very encouraged by the reports I hear. May God faithfully bless everyone involved! Dan Mansor (NJ)
I would like to say that I found this web site truly amazing. I was there at the orphanage in 1987 with Teen Missions, Intl. I loved working with the children and they made my life truly enjoyable during my time in Egypt. There is no greater joy than seeing a smile on a childs face. I really miss the time that I spend at the orphanage and my time in Egypt. I think about the children and the orphanage all the time. I am also always catching myself looking at my scrap book with all of my pictures, remembering the time spent at the orphanage. Someday I hope to come back and devote more of my time to the children. Thank you for this web site. Michelle Giacomazzi Cross, Montana, USA
Your webside is very clear and open. I thank God for such a fantastic orphanage. I pray God's blessings and love for you and the children now and in the future. Love from The Netherlands, Mireille Ruigrok
September 15, 2002 I went with Teen Missions International to volunteer at the Lillian Trasher Orphanage in the Summer of 1990! What a wonderful experience it was! I will never forget seeing the children's happy, smiling faces, and hearing their beautiful voices singing out to our Lord and Saviour at the Church services. What a blessing! Mr. and Mrs. Assad are truly loving people! I remember them, along with Nancy and Lillian, who I became friends with, with great fondness! God bless you, Mr. and Mrs. Assad, and all your children! Your Canadian Sister in Christ, Lorna Simmonds lfsimmonds@hotmail.com Jeremiah 33:3! Genesis 28:15!
I just finished reading "Lillian Trasher Nile Mother" from 1951 and looked for a website and am so excited you have one. I think it's great and very informative. Thus far, everything I've read corresponds with what I read as of 1951!! Lord bless you!
Hi, I would like to see more pictures of the children, their names, and interests. I would like to see more pictures of the grounds. I am a highly visual person and like to be able to picture something in my mind when I pray for them. My son went there with Teen missions in 1999. I would appreciate your prayers for him. I would like to come if there is a need for nurses/family nurse practicioners Your sister in Christ Jesus
Thank you so much for this website. I love seeing the children at the orphanage. Dallas, TX
Hello, I'm a Peace Corps Voluteer, living in Northern Kazakhstan. In January I'm planning a visit to Egypt. I read a book about Ms. Lillian Trasher back in the U.S. about five years ago and wanted to see if it was possible to visit the orphanage that I had read about. I'm glad to see that Ms. Trasher's vision is still a blessing today. -Christy Morgan
